Men’s shirts: tips for a foolproof style

Custom or bespoke, elegant or casual, shirts are essential, especially in the male wardrobe. Choosing the right model, means no mistakes are made, but to be even more sure of your style and look we show you the shirt models which cannot miss in a man's closet.

Here are the must-have: Korean collar shirts, poplin and linen fabric shirts, Button down shirts, Chambray fabric shirts and striped shirts.

  • Korean collar shirt:

Inspiration, as the name shows, comes from the Eastern world. The Korean collar is minimal, consisting of a thin band of fabric without wings. It is a versatile garment: casual, but can be worn with simplicity even in formal contexts.

  • Poplin shirt

The poplin is a light, soft and resistant fabric made with thin warp threads. For this reason it has a distinctive, yet almost imperceptible, striped effect. Compact and at the same time soft, it is particularly suitable for spring / summer season. It is a formal shirt model, even if it is not suitable for evening occasions.

  • Linen shirt

It is the oldest textile fiber in the world and among the most resistant. It is able to isolate, thermoregulate and absorb moisture. For these reasons the linen shirt is comfortable and perfect to wear in summer or when it is very hot.

  • Button down shirt

The Button down shirt comes from shirts worn by polo players in the 1800s: during polo matches, the collar moved, so they decided to lock it with buttons. Since then, the button down has come a long way becoming a must of style and trend, especially for lovers of smart casual wear.

  • Chambray fabric shirt

The Chambray shirt is an alternative to denim, as it is lighter and more breathable. Born as a work clothing for workers during the Great Depression of the Twenties, but over the years has evolved into a fashion element, particularly in hipster style.

  • Striped shirt

The striped shirt was born in the '70s, as a symbol of rebellion and of being against the flow. Stripes represent an ideal fantasy for the beautiful season, but with caution: transversal or oblique striped shirt should never be worn with a man's suit
